DECOLONISE THEATRE

Aneesha Srinivasan (she/her) and Emma Jude Harris (she/her) at Global Origins created this website after years of living and working in UK theatre as immigrants and interrogating the ways in which the British canon and cultural hegemony manifest in theatre and live entertainment.

 

It exists as a homebase for our work surrounding decolonising the canon, including a work in progress, collaboratively authored, open source google doc reader that aims to provide free resources on the subject of decolonising theatre. This can be edited by anyone-anonymously if preferable-and will never be finished because there is always more work to be done! 

 

We will be populating this reader with more free content, including lectures, workshops, and discussions.
